Grilled Avocado & Mango Guacamole

We are celebrating Cinco de Mayo when translated means fifth of May. It’s a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. It is also known as the Battle of Puebla Day. While it is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in Canada and the United States, Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage. In honour of this celebration, we always enjoy a Mexican fiesta as a family. We love taco’s but guacamole is a must when it’s Mexican night. I have taken the traditional guacamole and given it a sweet smokey flavour. My Grilled Avocado and Mango Guacamole recipe is absolutely delicious and simple to make. Grilling the avocado, mango and jalapeno helps elevate their flavours. I love topping it with smoked paprika for a slightly smokey flavour. This guacamole is not just for dipping, it makes for a delicious topping on rice bowls. Serve it for breakfast or brunch with steak, eggs and tortillas. I promise you, its addictive and this Grilled Avocado and Mango Guacamole will become one of your favourite recipes.
